Sunrise Psychiatry is a small Psychiatry practice in Overland Park, KS. It was established with a vision of being a caring, forward thinking leader in the treatment of mental health conditions in the Kansas City Metropolitan area .
Through empathy, engagement and education we strive to tackle stigma and achieve recovery of Major Depressive Disorder and common secondary anxiety conditions through targeted treatment modalities. Starting initially with TMS(Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation).
About The Provider
Sonni Elliott, MD,
Board Certified Adult Psychiatrist
As child of Kansas City, Kansas, I always wanted to learn what makes the world go around. Along the way, my love of science led me to medicine. My interest in the human story led me to Psychiatry. With the strong foundation garnered at Xavier University of Louisiana, I graduated from Saint Louis University School of Medicine with honors in Psychiatry and Neurology. I completed residency at University of Illinois of Chicago in Psychiatry prior to Kansas City in 2010.
Over the next 6 years, I provided care in a number of inpatient and outpatient settings before moving outside of the metro for the next 4 years. Now back in Kansas City since 2020, my new goal is to remain at the forefront of psychiatric treatment with neuromodulation and TMS. I am eager to provide my own brand of thoughtful medical care that moves toward recovery and remission.
I am a part of the Clinical TMS Society, which is the gold standard for research, clinical protocol, and advocacy of TMS.

Helps navigate insurance, financials, and intake for TMS. Loves to understand the complexities of the human body and how trauma impacts mental health. Exploring a career in the PA field.

Olivia is pursuing her nursing degree at MidAmerica Nazarene University after earning her Bachelor’s in Community Health from KU in 2023. She’s passionate about wellness and loves supporting patients as they learn to advocate for themselves and their health.
